Radon Testing
We do thorough testing for dangerous Radon.
Radon in homes is a naturally occurring soil gas which the EPA has concluded is the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths in America, second only to smoking. House Radon levels need to below 4.0pCi/L (Pico Curies per Liter), a level set by the EPA or Radon in your home can become detrimental to your health.
If you test a home following the approved protocol and you receive a radon average at or above that level, the EPA recommends that you fix the problem. To understand how we get rid of radon, you first have to understand how radon enters your home.
Radon enters the lower levels of our homes because it is being drawn in from the soil below.
This is primarily because warm air is constantly rising out of the lower levels of the home. This air movement leaves the home’s interior slightly depressurized compared to the outside. This air movement leaves the home’s interior slightly depressurized compared to the outside. It is this slight negative air pressure which draws radon into the home. In order to counteract this action a standard radon mitigation system is designed to create more suction under the concrete slab floor than the basement is naturally exerting.
A1 Home Inspection, LLC will detect and advise you on ways to mitigate radon presence in a property.
Water Testing

Wood Destroying Insects (WDI)
Full investigation for subterranean termites, carpenter ants, wood boring beetles and carpenter bees.
Form NPMA-33 included.
Septic Inspection
We test your septic system using tracer dye.
A1 Home Inspection Service can perform a dye test on your septic system. This dye septic testing is done by flushing a tracer dye into the toilet along with a pre-determined amount of water and walking the grounds in the area of the septic field looking for signs of dye on the ground surface.
We request that the lid(s) are exposed for the test and when possible we will probe in the area of the drain field of your home septic system.
Through this test we can determine if your home septic system meets septic system requirements and can help you prevent problems in the future.
We inspect properties in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
